I’ve been passionate about figure skating for as long as I can remember, with a journey that’s led me to where I am today as a Canskate Certified and Regional Certified Coach, now working toward my Provincial Trained Status.
As a long-time member of the Langton Skating Club, I’ve had the honor of receiving golds in all four disciplines—Skills, Freeskate, Interpretive, and Artistic, as well as completing my Pre-Novice Competitive test.
From an early age, my true love was jumping and spinning. No matter how hard I fell, I would always get back up and try again, determined to master the next element. That resilience and passion guided me through my years of competitive skating. I competed at the Novice level, which was an incredible experience in shaping my skating journey. A huge highlight of my career was qualifying for the Western Ontario Provincial team in 2012, where I proudly placed 7th overall in Ontario. I also had the pleasure of skating for the Brock University Varsity Skating Team during my university years.
After returning home from university, I found a new love—synchronized skating. I started skating synchro as an adult, and from there, my passion for this discipline truly took off. Having experienced the challenges of training as a singles skater—often feeling isolated and the pressure entirely on my own shoulders—I found synchro to be a breath of fresh air. It’s an amazing feeling to share the ice with a supportive team, where each member lifts one another up.
Wanting to bring that sense of camaraderie to others, we started up the Ice Crystals Synchronized Skating program in Langton. This initiative allows skaters from all over Norfolk and the surrounding areas to explore the joy of team-based skating, giving them the opportunity to experience a discipline where teamwork and shared passion are at the heart of it all.
Outside of the rink, I’m a proud mom of three, wife, and dog mom. We’re always on the go with sports and activities, but I wouldn’t change it for a second! Alongside coaching, I run my own business and work from home, while also still supplying as an educational assistant for the BHNCDSB whenever I can.
